Steward Medical Group Announces New Leadership

DALLAS (MAY 19, 2021) – Steward Medical Group (SMG) – Steward Health Care’s division of primary care physicians and multi-specialty providers – has appointed Amy Guay, MPH, FHFMA, ACMPE, President, Steward Medical Group, and Dr. Roger Mitty, Chief Physician Executive, Steward Medical Group.

Guay has been SMG’s Chief Financial Officer since September 2020, offering a wealth of experience having previously served as CFO and SVP at Partners Continuing Care, Inc., in Boston, and as CFO and VP of Finance at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She holds a Master of Public Health from Boston University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business at Bentley University, in addition to being a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Roger Mitty, MD, MBA is a native of the New York City area who attended Wesleyan University as an undergraduate and then obtained his MD from New York University School of Medicine. After he completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, he trained in Gastroenterology at Boston University. He obtained his MBA from the Isenberg School of Business at the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Mitty has 27 years of clinical experience at Steward’s St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (SEMC) and has served in numerous leadership roles at SMG, Steward Health Care Network, and SEMC.

The more than 1,700 providers who comprise Steward Medical Group collaborate across Steward Health Care’s 34 physician-owned and -led U.S. hospitals and network of urgent care centers, private practices and more to improve patient outcomes through preventative care and other specialty services. Steward Medical Group provides more than six million patient encounters annually in 11 states.
