Stephen Farber named Interim Chief Financial Officer of Steward Health Care

Today, Steward Health Care System LLC (Steward) announced that Stephen Farber has been named Interim Chief Financial Officer for the system.

“Stephen is an experienced financial executive and a proven leader,” said Ralph de la Torre, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Steward. “Stephen’s expertise will benefit our system as we continue to grow and expand our investments in community health care.”

Farber has two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, including Chief Financial Officer of Tenet Healthcare Corporation, at the time a $15 billion revenue publicly-traded national hospital company with 120,000 employees. Farber was the founder, Chairman and CEO of Connance, a healthcare financial technology firm, and was recently an Executive-in-Residence in healthcare with Warburg Pincus LLC. Farber began his career as an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and JP Morgan where he focused on healthcare mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance. Stephen earned his BS in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School
