A special program on coping and healing after the Boston Marathon attacks
Our community and neighbors are invited to join St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers and our interfaith chaplain, in “Healing After Trauma” a special program designed to help facilitate conversation and eventual healing after the Boston Marathon attacks.
Wednesday, May 8, 2013 -- 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The program will include
- Coping After Trauma, Chitra Malur, MD, Chair, Department of Psychiatry, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center
- How Spirituality Can Help – an Interfaith Discussion, led by Chaplain Maureen Higgins, MDiv., BCC, Director of Spiritual Care, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center
- Break-out sessions led by physicians, nurses and social workers focusing on identifying and managing:
o Sleep disturbances/issues and nightmares
o Recognizing and diffusing anxiety
o Coping with sadness
o Supporting friends and family during trauma
o Talking with children and grandchildren.
