Nashoba Valley Medical Center holds weight control support groups to help those who are interested in health-related topics, who have undergone weight loss surgery, or who are gathering information about surgery.
In June, we will focus on the importance of portion control. We will examine portion sizes for various foods and why it's important to be aware of portion sizes. We'll also demonstrate the change in perceived portion size of common food items, i.e. a muffin from 20 years ago compared to today’s coffee shop muffin.
Regardless of where a person is in relation to the bariatric surgery process, just considering it or at any point prior to or after the weight loss procedure, he or she is welcome to attend the sessions. Support sessions, such as these, have been shown to directly increase the chances of short- and long-term patient success. Friends and family are always welcome too.
Please join Sara Schwarz on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in conference room one.
