A five-week series of classes review topics for birth preparation, after delivery care, comfort measures, car seat safety and getting ready to go home with the new baby. Also available are a one-time class with an interpreter for a mother’s preferred language and a class for preparing mothers under 18 years of age.
Prepared Childbirth Class
A class for mothers who have previously taken childbirth classes and are interested in a review.
Offered monthly on a Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon. It offers the most current information on getting the best start for baby by choosing breastfeeding as well as resources for breast pump information.
Loss Support Group
This support group is for families who have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death. The group meets the third Tuesday of each month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call 508-427-3028 or 508-427-3712.
Our OB Patient Advocate can help you find an obstetrician, nurse midwife or a pediatrician and can assist mothers with locating suitable insurance coverage for the delivery. Prenatal childbirth education classes and private Maternity Department tour also available. The OB Patient Advocate is also a certified adoption specialist. For more information call 508-427-3712.
& Me Mothering Group
This free collaborative with Brockton Early Intervention group meets most Fridays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Holiday socials and occasional refreshments are served. There is infant massage, toddler craft activities, infant feeding support, baby weigh-in’s and mothers’ discussions.
