Medical Oncology and Hematology Team

Carney Hospital Lung Cancer ClinicThe Good Samaritan Comprehensive Cancer Program delivers the latest medical oncology and hematology care, including chemotherapy, biological and other targeted therapies, hematology services, access to national clinical trials, and support services for patients and families.

Specialized care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team, which includes physicians who are board certified in medical oncology and hematology, and registered nurses who have earned certification in oncology nursing.

Our medical oncology and hematology services include:

The medical oncology and hematology staff includes:

  • Karim Malek, MD, chief of the medical oncology and hematology department, earned his medical degree at the University of Alexandria School of Medicine in Egypt. He completed his residency and a fellowship at Boston Medical Center. Board certified in hematology and oncology and internal medicine, Malek appears often on Bridgewater Cable Television’s “Medical Minutes” program giving insight into cancer prevention, treatment and education.

  • Barry Cuiffo, MD, received his medical degree at the State University of New York, Downstate, completed his residency at Presbyterian-University Hospital, and completed two fellowships at the Tufts University School of Medicine and Tufts-New England Medical Center. He is board certified in hematology and oncology and internal medicine.
  • Christopher Nauman, MD, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Boston Medical Center and completed his fellowship also at Boston Medical Center. Nauman is board certified in oncology and internal medicine.

  • Stephen Mayer, PhD, MD, earned his medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency and a fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.

  • Satinder Dhillon, MD, is a graduate of the Lading Hardinge Medical College in India. She completed residencies at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Lading Hardinge Medical College, Tata Memorial Cancer Center and the University of Maryland Hospital. Dhillon also completed fellowships at the Tufts-New England Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and oncology.
